When I’m at home wondering if God is pleased with me, there will be times He shows me a ladybug or a rainbow, and it’s often reassuring. It’s a private confirmation of His love for me. So, when it happens while we’re away, it’s not only refreshing but further confirms the fact that we don’t worship a God who exists in a specific location nor one who only loves us when we are working. He loves us wherever we are and displays His love by communicating personally through the daily grind or when we’re quietly recharging.
With that said, our family recently took the trip of a lifetime! And we are forever grateful. The ocean is magnificent. The waves crashing are so soothing. The air is stimulating & rejuvenating. The sight of the water as the sun shimmers over it’s ripples is nothing shy of a Heavenly sight. The entire scene was both serene and effervescent at the same time! And as if that wasn’t enough, Father gave us dolphins leaping in the wide open ocean, a ladybug in the sand and a double rainbow at sunset!!!
Affectionately, I write because I have lived in the humdrum of the same surroundings within the four walls of my house. It is RARE for us to have a “break in the norm” away like the one mentioned above. BUT… whether you are reading this post at a picturesque place of rest like the one I just described or in your own home, where the same ole same old repeats it’s reciprocating cycle of laborious care, may we praise God for His Glory around us! He shines through the tedious tasks and the relaxing respites regardless! Question is, can you identify your sweet Savior in the area you presently occupy?
Consequently seed times come before harvests. One has to both plow the ground then reap the yield. The same procedure happens in life during the different cycle of seasons. So, if we happen to be in either the planting or picking stage, it’s imperative we give thanks for the work as well as the proceeds it yields like relief!
Frankly, you can discover God’s handiwork in the ordinary day to day or on a destination vacation! So, my prayer is that you would grow to enjoy Jesus in the one so you can really appreciate Him in the other. Candidly, my challenge to you is that you’d search for the Lord in the former as well as the latter. And I promise that when you do, it’s likely you’ll catch a glimpse of His beauty right where you are, along with where you hope to be! Trust me, God’s great love echoes in the sweet song the birds sing whether here or there. 🙂
Psalm 66:4 “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah
So glad for a refresher for you. Rejoicing with you.
Praise the Lord! So joyful for your beautifully God blessed trip! I’m sure he’s calling you to rest in him now. Resting in glory and the memories that you’ve made. Love you!
I so love when my Father sends me those wonderful moments. You are so right though, we must be open to seeing God’s presence in our lives. He is everywhere and in everything, but we must have open eyes and an open spirit! I pray for both each day.
Thank you for the wonderful post!
Blessings,
Amy
